Black Owned Brands to Support This Black History Month

If there were ever a time to show your support for black owned brands this would be it. listed below are some of my most recommended black brands to support for this years Black History Month. Be on the lookout for a master list of over 50 brands to support within the next few days!

ps: I would like to encourage you all to not only support black owned brands in February but to support them year long even if its just adding a black owned snack brand in your target shopping cart on your grocery run.

HAIR

1. Pattern:
   

1. Created by award-winning actress Tracee Ellis Ross, Pattern's Edge Control allows you to perfectly style and shape your edges without worrying about breakage or dryness. Pattern takes pride in providing products that are cruelty free and would give your hair a lot of hydration. 2. TPH:

1. The collection wasn't made with a specific hair type in mind, nor is it solely for people who wear weaves. Taraji P Henson created TPH hair for every texture, whether silky and stick-straight or fluffy, gravity-defying z-shaped zigzag strands.

   

3. Melanin:  

1. I remember watching Natural85’s YouTube videos to create her diy hair masks. Now you can just buy her products from Ulta as she launched her very own hair company in 2015 called Melanin Hair Care. I brought the twist elongating style crème which was My first purchase from the line when it first came out. It's thick and definitely gives my hair a decent amount of moisture and weight to wear styled twists. The price is pretty good for the amount of product. 1. I love using the blueberry bliss collection for my wash and go's! It instantly refreshes and brings out my curl pattern and looks good all day! It cleanses my hair without it feeling stripped, brittle or dry. It also moisturizes my hair leaving it soft and easy to detangle and not weighing my curls down. 1. Shea Makery:

1. I know how some people feel about fragrance in their skincare routine and was hesitant to add this company to my list. However, if fragrance doesn't bother you then I’d definitely recommend this line of products to replace the Bath and Body works line, if even for just the month of February. 2. Topicals: 

1. Topicals faded cream currently has me in a chokehold. I had no idea that it was a black owned company until I started researching black owned  skincare. Anyways, the faded cream is a MUST BUY. It's very pricey but I have had stubborn dark marks on my forehead that have started to fade away in a week, no cap. If you suffer from hyperpigmentation and ingrown hairs, topicals would get you together before summer hits. 
   
   

   
   
   

3. Black Girl Sunscreen: 

1. Did you guys know that your skin starts aging at the age of 25? Did you also Know that incorporating sunscreen into your skincare routine helps protect from ultraviolet UV rays, wrinkles, discoloration and skin cancers. 1. At last one of my favorite youtubers Jackie Aina who is a trailblazer in the beauty industry has created a luxury fragrance business targeted for black women who deserve a luxury lifestyle. These candles are to die for you honestly don't even have to burn them to smell the fragrance throughout your home. All of her products are made with a  wax that  is 100% coconut soy! It’s completely paraben, Phthalate, and cruelty free, making it fully safe to use.

1. Partake Cookies: 

1. One thing that people know about me is that I love to snack on foods but I also have bad food allergies. 1. I am not supposed to be eating popcorn due to dietary reasons but I always make an exception for Pipcorn. Pipcorn was first introduced to me about three years ago when I was researching black owned snacks. Back then they were only available online and I would buy their products in bulk. This brand is now being sold at Wholefoods, what a major upgrade! (ps: my favorite flavor is the kettle corn but I'm unsure if they sell it anymore)

1. Black Toy Store:

1. It is SUPER hard to find black owned stores for kids. You’d spend hours and hours browsing the internet for the perfect store that fits your child's niche. Now you can find just about any toy your children may want that is either made by a Black-owned company or that promotes diversity through the Black Toy Store. 

   
   
   

2. Curly Kids:

1. Curly Kids features natural hair products for only $5.00 a product. Ps: Their products do not contain petroleum, mineral oil, sulfates or paraben! You can shop their products at you local Kroger.

   
   
   

3. Gabby Bows:
